The Bulldog Bag Timeline
- 1964-65
Bulldog Bag Ltd. started as Maclin Bag, manufacturing paper mattress bags in a small facility in Vancouver. Renamed in 1965, Bulldog Bag was reborn with a name that symbolizes strength and reliability. - 1966-75
After purchasing its first building in 1966, the company continued to grow, moving to a larger facility in Richmond in 1973 and expanding into flexible polymer packaging. - 1976-94
With rising demand, Bulldog installed its first extruder to produce custom polymer films. Under the leadership of Irving and Frank Sirlin, the company grew its product range and flexible film production. - 1995
Moving into a 120,000 square foot facility, Bulldog Bag set the stage for major commercial expansion, increasing production capacity to meet customer needs. - 1996-2009
Bulldog invested in cutting-edge equipment like an 8-color press and adhesive laminator, paving the way for more advanced packaging options and expanding into the retail market. - 2010-2022
Bulldog’s capacity for high-quality packaging grew with the addition of a 10-color W&H printing press in 2017, allowing for more vibrant and detailed prints on both paper and plastic products. - 2023 and onward
In 2023, Bulldog Bag moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Langley, BC, investing $9 million in new printing, converting, and laminating equipment to keep up with growing demand and ensure top-tier production efficiency.
